I live near the trinity river and was wondering if anyone has had any luck hunting on it?

yes but right now most of that river is about 5 foot across we need rain real bad in north Texas

hunted a creek/slough that feeds into the trinity this past saturday. got our limits of woodies and man was there plenty of them too! only heard one group of mallards, right before daylight.
if i could make a scented candle, i'd make call it... gunpowder in the sunrise! or wet dog, swamp mud and gun smoke!
