December 26th goose or crane hunt

Postby tako1972 » Mon Dec 24, 2012 9:35 am

Merry Christmas fellas.
Curious to see if anyone is hunting with an outfitter on the 26th of December(wednesday after Christmas) and if they could add another gun. Been working like 16 hours a day and would like to get into some big birds with my day off. Goose or Crane.Anywhere south of Austin. I appreciate it. Have a safe happy holidays with the family y'all.

Here you go Bayou. Came up two short on a seven gun limit of specks. killed two cranes and numerous snows. Lots of birds. Alittle wary cause it was so clear. A great after Christmas hunt.
Also, after putting some geese into a spin with an 870 I'm wondering why I think I need a fancy gun.

Glad the gun worked out for you. Forgot to tell you it still has the factory full choke in it :lol3:

Shoot I just saw this post, I went out on the 26th to some farmland that needed to get rid of cranes. We had 6-7 flocks of about 300 total cranes decoy but fail to commit (I assume not enough crane decoys or not enough chatter and motion in the silo socks) We also had a few bonus flocks of speckled bellies and snows in the 30-50 each range. Again no wind and they circled the decoys 4-5 times and split... Lots of birds out towards ********ville  just contact the local farmers and they will let you hammer them.
