I suggest you quit lying and just admit it was a fully guided hunt. Especially if you plan on being invited back. Also would hate to ruin your guided trip in a couple of weeks.

I recognized that second photo Matt ... ! 1) I suggest you hunt with a better crowd, 2) funny, neither of you mentioned the outfitter - you're very clearly both LIARS. I'm going to call them and out you. You'll never hunt with them again.

Yeah pro ... ! I can see that ... I'm VERY familiar with their businesses ... unfortunately for your little ruse, as we've recently been enlightened, omissions are LIES. You only posted the outfitters name after I called you out liar.

I bet you enjoyed the banjo music while you were there. FOR shame ... !

Major difference is our outfitters don't want us talking about where we hunted... No way in hell I'd even mention the nearest town or county!! While I want nothing more than to give them the credit they deserve, it's kinda hard to mention them and not give away where we were hunting. It's a double edged sword really!!

You also didn't say it was a guided hunt either. That's what's called a "half-truth." It's where you only tell half of the story and when someone busts you out, you wryly state that you never actually lied. It's what children and most criminals do.

I very clearly stated that we hunted with an outfitter, actually two outfitters, and we do get discounted rates!

No you didn't, not at first at least. Ya'll kind of "Walked it in" to that. At first, no mention of an outfitter, then you mentioned "friends," then it went to "locals calling you," and finally it ended with "Yeah, it was guides." You had the truth twisted out of you like water from a washcloth.

It might add up to $300 a day after paying for lodging and tip, hell I'd pay $500. I don't think you can put a price on the experience we just had...

Sure you can. $300 a day.

Half of my friends here in Texas are guides... Guess that means I go on guided hunts every weekend!!

If you're at their spots using their stuff benefitting from work they've done that they usually get paid for, yeah, you are.

I've thought about truly freelancing this exact trip. It really wouldn't be that hard, access to birds up there comes pretty easily. I just wouldn't want to step on these guys toes, using what we've learned from hunting with them to hunt the same areas. I also figure it's better to spend 1/3 more and get an extra hunt in...

So hardcore, bro. Black hoodies 4 life.

Let it play out and see if anyone says anything. I'm all for good trolling, but you've trolled plenty here. Mojo4478, do you know these guys?

FWIW, reading the first page of this thread I was 100% convinced this was freelance. The story going from friends-->locals-->paid outfitter was humorous.

It does make sense on how successful they are with every hunt they post, not bashing, just wishing I had more friends that guided!

Mojo/Pouledeau- what amount of work did you contribute to this hunt? Scouting/Calling/Dog work/etc? Just wondering how if at all that brings down the cost of an outfitter.

Thanks!

Scouting (not this year - we didn't have that kind of time off and they found them before we got there, last year, yes/not in the second location)/Calling (every time)/Dog work (when ours are allowed to be used - oh, sorry, my dog is retired at 13 years old, let me rephrase that as to not offend the children - when one of them chews his way out of the kennel in the bed of the truck, yes - and when the other is allowed).

They are however friends, who are locals, who run a guide service. Again, my apologies that's humorous. I could honestly care less. Hell of a lot of fun though ... thanks!

And. You're welcome!

"know them" not personally. I'm more friends with the outfitters, both of them, they would kill me if they knew who I was. Anyways would not have said a word if they would have not acted like they freelanced the trip. They can call and are good guys with just a couple of bad apples. They know who they are.....cough cough mojo and ponderlou
