Pouledeau!!!!

I just want to send a thanks! Also to everyone else who gave me pointers and tips on trout/red fishing. I went wading this morning and I have to say I am hooked! First hole I went to I managed to pull out 7 specks, all between 15 to 18 with one measuring 21. I also had something that was HUGE send my gundog dummy about three feet out of the water, but no hookup. It honestly looked a cherry bomb went off. I decided to move to another spot about ten minutes down the road and caught 2 more trout and one red that measured 24. So needless to say I am hooked, and again I can't thank everyone on here enough.

P.s. I wish I had pics but I was solo with no camera. :(

Awesome Stump!! Doesn't get much better then slamming trout on topwaters... I bet the fish that blew your topwater out of the water was either a big trout or upper slot red. Alot of times if they do that you can twitch it a couple times once it lands, then give it a long pause, and they'll come back for it!
Make em hate it!!

The funny thing mojo, is I knew to do that from years of bass fishing, but when I saw that explosion the adrenaline took over and I reeled in to cast back out. Once he didn't come back I was like dang that was stupid :(

It was probably a monster trout in the areas you have been hitting. Will be headed down in 2-3 weeks again once the wind dies out and the bay settles. I may even try some btb at the rigs in the kayak.

What did you end up getting? Get on the Texaskayakfisherman forum they have a bunch of info on how and where to do it. Also a bunch of places to put in with a kayak.

Sounds like a plan. Now tell me where I can get a 32" trout around the 12 pound mark and I will go catch him lol.
