On the eve of dove hunting I just wanted to remind all you dove hunters to keep an eye out for banded dove. Apparently while Texas leads the country in harvested dove every year we are last in dove band notifications. The bands are tiny and can be easily missed, so before you discard your bird carcasses do a leg double check. I'm really hoping I can get one this year!
Good luck to everyone!

I have killed 95 to 150 doves a year for the past 19 years and never shot a banded dove. I check every one. I would rather break the ice on a duck though.
