Great day on the water. Where'd all these gwt come from? Besides that lots of the same birds, grey, widgeon, blue bill. Lots and lots of spoonies, never seen so many. Finally killed a mature drake spoonie. For those who stayed home thank you, it was nice to hunt a weekend w/o anyone around.

Happy killing!

Clear, cool morning down here on the coast. Drake bluebill got his flight canceled at first light. Then thank God for fisherman because if it wasn't for the flats boat that bumped up the raft we would will still be sitting here bored. Got our limit of redheads and then a lonely bufflehead hen that flew past the bufflehead decoys to land with the gadwall decoys.
Anyway, it's slow.

A few miles to your north there are good numbers of Widgeon & Pintail. GW actually wrote up a group for being over their limit...all they shot were Widgeon.

With that said, this is the worst second season I've seen on the coast. Hopefully 2014 will bring us more ducks.

I am defiantly way more impressed with the first half. It's been so slow I went trout fishing instead of hunting this past Friday.

35 trout in a hour and a half, some of the best we had all year. However, there was a lot of dinks and those 15 and half trout. We ended up keeping 10 trout to eat between 17 and 22, we found the birds working deep water next to a bridge. We were throwing Norton sand eel juniors on 1/16 ounce jig heads, brown colored with chartreuse tail and a slow twitch fall, twitch fall retrieve. One large sow was broken off on the barnacles.

It was easy for Santa this year at my house...an American Doll, TV/DVD combo, and a shoulder mount for the 17 year old. The fun part will be frying turkeys for all the family tomorrow instead of hunting.

Thursday morning the ducks better be ready cause I'm gonna take out my aggression on them. In the words of a very wise & great hunter...I'm gonna "Shoot Em InDa FACE!!!
