My Son and I did well on Teal this morning, but no "Big Ducks" to be seen. Good news is the Teal are still here and there's plenty of Season left for the Big Ducks to migrate down here. I was in South Dakota and Minnesota last week on Business. Lots of Ducks up there - plenty of food, water, nice temps - so can't say I blame them for wanting to stay for now.

Anyone else have good luck this weekend? Hit it hard and safe & good luck to all!

We did pretty good. Almost shot a 6 man limit. Was a real mixed bag for us. Had pintails, bwt, gwt, redheads, and I shot a bluebill hen. Pretty strange for us to shoot those in a flooded rice field!!!!

I went out for geese because i am trying to focus on them this year and ended up shooting teal like the rest of Texas. Hope everyone had fun.

All teal and spoonies... Not exactly what I had hoped for but I'll take it.

Not a bad opener with my neighbor (3 gadwall, 2 teal, 1 spoony). Lots of ducks high in the air with sunny skies. Dog did average, I normally train her to retrieve the last duck that dropped first or any cripple shot on the water first. She wanted to herd the first 4 shot to one locale and then retrieve.

Slept in Saturday morning cause i'm tired of dealing with the ace load of duck commanders that show up on public waters for the opener. Went out Sunday with my brother and had a really good public hunt. Lots of teal and woodies in the area, and we had a group of mallards work the spread also. Can't wait to get after them again this weekend, happy hunting gents.
