Hey guys, how are the duck numbers lookin around the eagle lake area. Got a spur of the moment invite to hunt a lease with flooded fields for opener. Just curious on what all is down so far and how many. Thanks

It'll be hit or miss depending on where your invite is. Could be great, could suck! Snow started showing up recently. Specs are down but rumor has it they're acting sketchy. Ducks ought to do it if you're where they want to be.

Still a ton of teal around. I've hear there's been an influx of green wings. I'd imagine the divers and pintail are down in huntable numbers. I'll know for sure tomorrow!

Good luck.

Shooting at ducks might've gotten the geese skittish though...

I'm aware that my Louisiana Public Schooling lends me to many handicaps ... but unless I'm completely retar-tar ... THIS says:

Waterfowl Youth Only -

Special duck, goose, merganser and COOT ... LOL ... coot. I'm not happy about all the youth cooting I missed as a young lad.

We did great on Teal here in S. Texas this morning. No big ducks here yet, but Teal were coming in and locking onto the decoys hard. Best Teal Hunt we've had in a few years. Good luck to all!
