Mojo, true...it all depends on mama, too! Maybe too young for a layout scenerio, but a blind scenerio would be good on an afternoon hunt.

At Pintail Peeler- my wife actually picked the name, which is even better. Not much hunting going on this year with twin boys in the mix as well. And yes, when I do hunt and bring back some table fare, he watches and picks birds. Grabs the dekes out of the car and yells "DUCK"! Hopefully all my boys are lifers.
Tight lines...

Not sure how young drake is but I started taking Seth when he was 3.... Pile a warm blanket around him and he is good to go. I also only take him on small stock ponds that we can drive right up to though. I don't plan on hauling him out on public until he is more self sufficient.

Thanksgiving Holidays:
Hunted with buddies in a secret river bottom on 11/27 and did pretty well...
Birds Hanging Compressed.jpg

Then headed to the coast with my girlfriend and her family and proceeded to only find redheads! :fingerhead:

Tell me where the Trout/Reds are, and I'll make it my personal mission to put you on Mallards before the season ends. We may have to drive a little, but it won't cost you a dime.

I'm taking a couple VP's out fishing tomorrow, and I haven't seen the saltwater since duck season started. Lol

Gulf of Mexico, ULM, along sandbar between the big tree and blue shack. My Corpus buddies have stayed on the fish all fall. Try using small storm white swim baits very slow almost dragging bottom in 4'-6' drops ;)

SA speaks the truth. Slow everything you do WAY down, fish a little deeper then you normally would, and when you find fish stay on them. There are a lot of big trout being caught right now as we'll. fishing shrimp under a popping cork is going to be affective if you can find shrimp at any bait stands. Pretty sure this is gonna be late, but hope y'all found some fish!

Picture Thread-Duck Season 2013-2014

Postby :-) » Tue Dec 03, 2013 3:21 pm

Small trout was all I found.

Watched the GW get stuck in their airboat, and a chit load of ducks...some of the biggest rafts I've ever seen.

This is just a pice of the biggest raft.

Puddle ducks are starting to show up now also.

LOL!! I have killed my fair share of wigeon... Just not this year for some odd reason and they are my favorite bird, but I have killed more greenheads early then seasons before. I'll take the trade off... :hammer:
