Outfitters/Guides in W TX, Midland/Monahans

Postby huck18 » Wed Nov 20, 2013 9:27 am

Hey guys I'm looking for an outfitter to hunt with in this area. I'm from Ft. Worth and hunt there most of the time but work has me out West. So I'm going to try and make the best of it and get some hunting in while I'm out here if I can. Not sure if this area even has any birds. I saw a flock of Canadas yesterday but I really haven't seen any ducks out here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not alot around Midland, you'll likely have to drive a ways or get on some private land that has water... Where you find water, there will be good numbers of ducks!

Hey sorry Huck for not getting back to you. Yea, the closest public land that has ducks is in Abilene and the lake level is dangerously low. I hunt on some private land in Abilene that has water and no other hunters. San Angelo is about an hour and a half away, but I have never hunted there and don't know of the potential. It's a hard life being a duck hunter and living out here in the oil patch. Duck hunting is a weekend event that involves driving for anything worth hunting. The private ponds around here don't see that much either.
