Spring Birds ... Get'em Up and Grind.

Thought we should have a dedicated Gobbler thread. Post'em up boys ...

Manged to smash a beast last weekend - 5 yards, spitting, strutting and drumming ... came in so hard I didn't even have my gun up before he was on me. Had to let him leave and then worked him back in to 12 yards purring and chirping after he retreated.

Wet and windy. Sort of amazed he did it ... !

32 lbs., just a toad ...

Small bird. Not a big turkey hunter, but fun.

Did you weigh him for real. My God that's a huge bird. How long were his spurs and beard.

Congrats.

Nice bird Matt ... !

G - yeah, weighed him "for real". LOL ... spurs were ok. One was 1.25" and the other was broken off. The beard was only a little over 10" but it's a freaking rope. I'm 6'2" and pushing 205 for reference.

This 24# dirty bird is my first ever taken! This joker was hung up with a hen at 55 yards when I dropped the hammer on him and straight up crushed him with a fastball of 3.5" hevi-13 magnum blend. I must say I'm doing everything possible to get back out to Sonora before the end of the month to grind out another! Poul and mojo y'alls pics are stellar, well done.
