Face paint??

Postby hossblur » Fri Nov 09, 2012 11:10 am

I have read in other places about guys painting up. I also get teased about wanting to be a Duck Commander. To be honest I hadn't given it much thought before I saw those guys' show, but it seemed like a good idea, especially if you hunting big water, which I do earlier in the season. I used the black under the eyes when I played football, so as part of my paint I do this now, which helps on those sunny days. I have become a believer, seems I veer fewer birds when I look up at them. Curious how many others have started painting? Not to mention my hunting buddy(6yr old) thinks we look cool!

I use a gilly suite head mask and an insulated/waterproof camo mask later in the season. I got sick of putting it on and cleaning it off. I still paint for bow huntin though.

I just started. But I think it will help not flair birds as much.

When I started, it seemed and still seems to flare a lot less birds. Even if it didn't help, it makes it a more rememberable hunt for ur hunting buddy. So I say it works.

I usually paint up. I'll tell you guys a nice little trick a buddy taught me. Get some wine corks and always keep a few in your blind bag with a lighter. Light the end of the cork until it starts on fire, blow it out, let it cool, then use the burned end to mark your face up. It wipes right off with a baby wipe at the end of the day. I always used to use the camo face paint, but it can be a bugger to clean off.

I paint up every time. Usually Green and brown by my eyes and nose and the rest black to look like a Duck Commander beard.

Your the most paranoid person I know when it comes to keeping your face hidden or painted. I seem to remember you saying that the birds that flared this year saw us.

I never use the stuff, but I sure wish some of my buddies would start using it...it would sure improve the scenery.

None of us in my party use face paint and I have seen plenty that do I have not seen any difference in ducks flaring. Now I will agree it might make some of you look better in the kill pictures lol. :lol3:

Keep your face in the shadows and don't stare at the birds flying directly over head. No need for the war paint. Every time I see a dork with face paint on, I want to slap them and tell them to just go hunt instead of watching all the hunting videos. :fingerpt:
