Congrats! Ok, now how close were you to that duck on the far right when you shot it? 3 yards? Looks like it got torn to pieces!

that was just me being over ambitious with the neck ringing.
she was one of those birds that just wouldn't die. every time i would think she was dead and put her with the other birds she would try to sneak off into the weeds. finally i just had to ring her for all she was worth. the picture looks gorey, but the breasts were in nice shape. the biggest goose to the far left was so big i could barely ring his neck. i'm sure he is the biggest goose i have ever shot. i wish i had a scale to weigh him but i would guess every bit of 12 lbs.

i am a 5' 11" 245 lbs fat man if that gives you some frame of reference on the size of this sucker.

Very nice indeed! Were you hunting alone, or with someone else? When you hunt the berry, do you have a boat, or do you just pack your gear in? Do you have a dog to retrieve your birds?

PS, good pics.

So what do you do if the ducks land in the lake?

Ah, that makes sense. So you better make sure those ducks can't swim when you head out after them!

I hit Strawberry yesterday as well. Killed afew ducks but the majority of the local birds came in around 7:05- actually landing in the dekes while I was picking them up. Glad you got into the geese I've seen them around but hadn't had a chance on them yet.

i was just reading one of my buddies firebirds post over the phone. i got to the part about picking up decoys at 7:05. he assumed that meant 7:05 am. he said 5 minute hunting....thats my kind of hunting. i need that guys name and number. throw out the decoys, wait 5 minutes, if nothing flys, pick them back up, and head for lunch.
