The three of us limited out both days. We got quite a few mallards, a number of blacks, a load of teal and two pintails. We ended up getting 16 ducks in an hour and a half Friday afternoon. What a hunt. Im looking forward to next year.

Where in qubec did you hunt? I have been going to the Finger Lakes for three days once a year and am looking for another place to hunt. We shot 5 ducks on Friday, which was horrible. We hunted the goose opener and shot 15 geese in 30 min and shot 15 geese in 40 min on Sunday. As we were leaving we were given 28 geese, all tagged.

Dug this one up from the deep-2005.

I recently went on a boat trip from Champlain to Quebec City. It was my first time seeing the Richelieu and St. Lawrence from the perspective of a duck hunter.

I don't think I'm giving away any secrets here...and the effort to get your firearm into Quebec is significant, so:

Holy S**t, the Richelieu and the undeveloped islands south of Sorel in the St. Lawrence appear to be prime spots to hold ducks. I see protection, food...the whole schebang. I see why some close friends go up there most every year. The stretch from the border to Sorel is big, so we're not talking an isolated spot. I've got to guess that this is where our ducks hang out prior to visiting us!

Anybody else have stories from hunting these areas? How popular (crowded) is it?
