Good day hunting Bluebills

Postby Vtwaterfowler » Tue Nov 12, 2013 9:15 am

I went out scouting saturday afternoon and was surprised to find a LARGE raft of bluebills! The next morning I set up with my 2 buddies (in the picture) in my spot, and we were pretty much on the x. With 2 long lines and 4 dozen deeks, our furthest shot was 25 yards and had 6 bluebills down by 7 am!! We hunted till 11:30 to tag 3 goldeneyes in addition to our 6 bluebills. The whole morning we had bluebills landing in our decoys just swimming around! It doesn't get any better then that!! Image

I always eat them. they are a little stronger flavor, but put them in a little gravy with rice or mashed taters and they are pretty decent!
