openning day

Postby HotDog » Wed Oct 10, 2007 4:23 pm

I guess it's hot! Tried to sneak Lewis Creek this pm but only made it 100 yards in my neoprenes.

Morning hunt saw lots of high fliers. (Three kids don't sit still much!)
No Kills, minimum shooting by us. Neighbors must be shooting rifled barrels for longer range! Those guys were after 100 yard birds.

Sure were more hunters than we felt would be there. (Dead Creek)

I'll be on Lake Champlain tomorrow. Hope things go better.

Happy Hunting.

We had a decent opening day. We certainly had enough shooting, and saw a lot of birds. The second day was extremely slow. We hunted the same spot as the day before and didn't get a shot off.
When we picked up the second day, we took a spin out on to Champlain, and there was probably 100-200 ducks rafted up way out of shooting range of the shore line.
