Kayaking for Ducks

Postby Blaiser » Tue Oct 16, 2007 12:27 am

While cutting burlap to put over the kayak I sliced my thumb open (ER 3 stitches) didn’t get to go that night. The injury did give me an excuse to take the night off from work, so the next morning I load up and put in. It’s all good a little unstable but I have a lifejacket on and I figure jamming my self into thick reeds will stabilize me. 1st I screw up because where I’m going is all ready loaded with ducks and being a novice I’m not sure what to do so I start in and not exaggerating about 200 ducks take off, no shots due to the fact it’s 10 min until shooting. I set up manage to call some mallards in take a shot and if the F word was a duck call they would have been all over me. I must have looked like a bobber after touching off a 3 ½, scared the S@#$@T out of me, and no ducks. If you’re going to do it bring something to jam in the muck to tie off to.

Blaiser sounds good. I can see that you have gotten the bug.

I hope the stitches weren't in your trigger finger.
