opposite to what i am hearing, i have had one of best seaons this year.... i personally have 39 mallards as of right know.... and expect another 30 in December..I hunt theVT and NY who's season goes through christmas and always hammer the mallards in Dec. ......once stuff starts freezing the shooting gets awesome...last year we shot as a group of three just under 90 mallards in late nov- late dec................december is by far in my opinion the best time to kill birds in VT/NY

Mailyard, have you been doing better in NY? Ive heard that the NY side of Champlain was much better than the VT side this year.

My bad I looked into it a bit more. THe lake closes with us, you post did say south of the lake. That is a seperate NY zone. Might have to drive a little bit and look around.
