Postby LBeinhaur » Fri Dec 12, 2008 3:35 am

Just got an email from Bill Crenshaw and he said there is the possibility of a spring season on snow geese. Don't toss out youe duck stamps!!!! He said more info later. Just wanted to give waterfowlers a heads up.

so just in case there is a spring season, are the 2008 stamps still legal, most likely along with 2009 hunting license????
how does that work??

Keep your license from 2008 in your wallet. The stamps only need to be signed, not ON your license.
Have you punched a PETA member today? Why not?

your Fed Duck stamp doesn't expire until june 30th I believe. so any waterfowl hunting is covered until the old Stamp.

Hey just jioned this site because Duckhunter85 told me about it and we are both on the DU site and we are trying to plan a spring goose hunt,And I am so ready to get out and shoot so more geese! So if thanyone has any info please let us know! If not I am going to have to hunt New York State! But it would be easier to hunt Addison County on the Whiteface Ranch than it would be to drive over to NY state! Thanks guys!

I am still here and have been on the road alot, between here and Maine,Between family matters and scouting, haven't had a minute too work! :grooving: But drop me a line I have been scouting the Whiteface ranch and trying too pick out a decent place too get set up!

What is up with that, the rules for this spring,we are the only state holding with the fall regs, isn't every one else allowed electronic callers and unplugged shotguns and no limit? Not that these birds will be here that long but if you do get into them why can't we get what we can like everone else along the Eastern Sea board?

I thought that was weird they put the same rules as fall too but all the other states have more birds moving threw. I dont really think it matters if you can only shoot 15 geese a day. If you do your your pretty lucky. I cant imagine cleaning 15 geese a day either. I cleaned 5 gesse 5 or 6 times during the resident season and that toke a while.
Good luck on hunting them, I hope at least some people get into the snows.

I was Ice fishing at sampsons point (st. Albans) on lake Champlain and saw the first flock of canadas come north. I figure the snows aren't too far behind them.

I saw one lone snow goose today, but it is the same one that has been here all year with the Canadians,I saw him last fall and the year before too,but today he was out in a corn field all by his lonesome, and I had too drive home get the gun and when I got back out there he was gone, but he may be back there tommorow morning and if he is,it may get ugly for him!
