Seaduck hunt Nov. 12 INFO

Postby LEWDOG » Sun Nov 06, 2005 10:02 pm

Where we will meet up at : Hardee's main St. Mathews http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?co ... code=23109

What time do we all need to be there : 5:00 AM - but knowing that all of you are coming from more then 50 miles away this can be change so talk about it now .

What to bring : Warm coat , Guns and Shells . If you have a PFD that fits better or you feel safer in it bring it . Seaduck decoys .

Our Goal : To get 800 yards offshore , get the decoys out and load the guns .

OK there is 1000 things that can go wrong that will keep this from happening , my guess is that we/I will deal with 999 of them and still have a good day .
If any of you want to bring your boat please do so and let me know asap . If any of you want to stay overnight go for it and let me know asap .
PM me asap if you want my home and cell phone numbers

 LD

PS: I still don't know just who all are planning to join me on this hunt so if you will please reply to this thread and let me know ASAP .

LD I live in callao va. I can make it. I have a 16foot jon with 25hp on the back. It is set up for puddle ducks pop up blind and all. I have shot my fair share of divers but I don't own 1 diver decoy. So this would be a first for me.
All of my diver hunting has been sitting on riprap and blasting when they came by.
Guess what I am saying is I wouldn't mind going, wouldn't mind using my boat
but I don't know whats going on.

Flint I have a 26' motorless boat (Ambush) that will be used this year as a seaduck blind . Nov 12 will be the first hunt on her , I plan to tow her offshore into the Bay and set out 147 scoter decoys on longlines and do some wing shooting . 6 shooters can hunt at a time and Ambush was rated to carry 12 people back when it was a USN captain gig . As of right now I know of 4 guys planning to join me on this hunt and you are more then welcome to come along . Being you have a blind on your boat and no decoys just leave her home and go with us onboard Ambush .

I agree smackdaddy, it was a new experience for me and I can see that it will not be my last. I for one enjoyed the day , just being out on 'de water" made it a fantastic day, popping a scoter or two just made the icing on the cake.! Thanks again Lewdog, for letting us river hunters enjoy ambush today, the tender service was first rate  and thanks to you too Smackdaddy, you too earned your keep (again), Thanks

And those ducks can moooooove
