Big Shorty, They said they worked out of the Williamsburg Office so I assumed they were VDGIF. Never saw such a thorough check. Boat, bags, pockets, etc. I personally dont mind them checking, it's there Job and I like seeing them out there enforcing the regulations.
I get nervous when I have other hunter's in my boat, normally I politely ask everyone if they have their license, stamps, Plug and steel shot at the ramp before we go out but Saturday "AG" had some relatives along and I asked if everyone had the license but that was it. Great bunch of guy's and everybody was legal.
I think they got a few boats for no running lights, it's about time. We have seen ALOT of boats running out there with no light at all. WE had a near miss in December with a duck boat that passed down the starboard side at about 20 feet going full throttle and not looking ahead. AG saw it and I managed to turn to port just in time and close enough to hear them say Oh S*^T. :pissed:
