Postby cut_un » Tue Mar 07, 2006 4:55 pm

Wondering if any of you guys are into camping? If I'm not hunting, fishing, you can find me& the little woman set up 'somewhere" in the state in our pop-up camper. Any of you "Old Hairy Legged Duck Hunters" making the rounds :salude: Just maybe we can sit around the fire and talk some duck one weekend :umm:

Didn't I see that rig over Kiptokeak last year?? :umm: Were you part of the SDH event??? :toofunny: :toofunny:
I like the paint job on the trailer. Looks good!

Question, I see you have racks for your Jeep. Are the 'through the top " or clamp on? I want to put some on mine ...for the 1200.
I'm going to be heading your way this summer , can you suggest a campground down your way. I'm thinking about renting a spot and "homesteading" for the summer. I want to be able to leave the trailer and tow the boat back and forth?????

Cut the rack is a clip on type that I got at wal-mart for $20.00 , I had to mod. it to clip onto the botton of the hard top in the back . It works great for my boats , plus I have had 8 sheets of plywood and 10 ea 2x4x8 all at the same time .
Now for a campground , we have two here . (1) http://www.newpointcampground.com/ This one is on the southern tip of Mathews which will put you on all the hop fishing spots within 1 hour run in a boat *but only when the weather is good* . (2) Gwynns Island Campers' Haven
(804) 725-5700
Po Box 43, Gwynn, VA
This one is close to where we hunted and is on the bay but one can fish on the creek side when the wind is up . This would be my pick .

VARINA the trailer was made in 1960 and has been across the USA twice , it works great for carrying decoys and after you set them in the field it can stay with them and use as a blind .

 LD

Camping /Fishin&Turkey huntin!!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby cut_un » Sat Mar 18, 2006 11:35 am

Watched a video years ago wher four fellows(somehwere in Va) I might add that were on a spring turkey hunt. They used small boats"ele motors' to get up the creek/river/lake and set up a tent camp, they would turkey hunt in the mornings, have a camp breakfast, fish for smallmouth bass and roost for turkeys as they fished. I thought that was just about as good as it gets. Have not been able to find that spot and a few guys to pull it off. Wondering if anyone else had seen the video, know of the spot or maybe want to put an adventure together!
