Couple pics today

Postby Islander Gunner » Wed Jun 26, 2013 2:11 pm

Took the little one fishing, caught a few on the pond, then got a pic of these turkeys crossing the dam. Food plots are coming up nicely, garage is up, still renovating the cabin. Lots of work still to be done!

I.G. is using this as a 'lil fishin' pond, but looks to me to be the place, (you know his secret honey hole), where he can be found on real windy days long about the middle of Dec..

Oh NNNNNNOoooooooooooooooo swamp. You know he is out there with the rest of us freezing on the open marsh, cursing because we just wasted a shell on a hairhead due to bordom. :lol3:

I'll be honest with ya guys...Im going to hunt this piece of property religously from now on. We have allready made a rule to only hunt waterfowl on the pond twice a week(more likely once a week). Been seeing right many Bob-Whites in the millet plots, the turkeys are there and deer also. Plenty of rabbits and squirrels, crows and even a couple of BobCats. We will be stocking the pond with more bass this Fall. Things are finally coming together, but I've spent a lifetime trying to find property to manage for wild life. Oh, BTW, I'll still be sitting in the salt marsh, looking at empty skies, hoping for a lawn dart to cross the decoys!

With all the time and money, we have invested in this place...anything that's in season will get whacked over the decoys...whether it swims, crawls or flies its getting a barrage of gunfire!

The cabin is starting to take shape. Vinyl siding and soffit hides alot. We have decided to add a front porch to the cabin. The hardwood floors turned out great!
The milo is starting to bloom out. We are on the home stretch now. :hammer:

Finished up the siding and soffit. Vinyl flooring is going in tomorrow, painter is painting the back porch tomorrow, we are so close to finishing I can taste it now...I might just drink a beer after this project is done (and I have never had a sip of anything, ever). I mowed a couple strips of millet this morning, just to see what the doves will do with it.
