The only "skinny water boat" I've used to a Steath 1200. A VERY Stable ride...... It has an open cockpit, plenty of room for gear and I can even sit on the side without fear of it flipping over. Not sure of any other brands on the market BUT.... can highly recommend a 1200 or 2000. Great lit duck hunt,a good fishing boat with the addition available seat( helps yer back)!
Good Luck... really a fun way to hunt!!

The rental places in Nags Head sell off most of their yak stock at the end of the season in September. You can get a good deal on a used one at the end of the month/early September.

I had a stealth 2000. Great boat and very stable. Almost flip proof. The only complaint I had about it was the weight. Ended up selling and buying a Native Watercraft Ultimate 12. I love the U12. It is also very stable, and light weight.

Thanks for the great info guys. Nags head is one of the places i wanted one for. I was down there all last week. I didn't even know you could rent one there. Heading back next month for a few days. Going to check them out.

I stopped at the kayak/para-sail place in Kill Devil Hills a few years ago and they had several nice kayaks for sale and they were trying pretty hard to sell them. Good Luck.

If your gonna be in NC check out creekboats.com. I bought the M-98 and love it. Light and allows a normal seat!

Is that evinrude a short shaft? Do you know how old it is? Is it in good working order?
