Herter honkers.

Postby Percidae_Papermouth » Thu Aug 29, 2013 9:30 am

Was touching up six of my dads old carry lites with black white and tan. Decided to take on the task of fixing up his old herters geese. I thought they turned out well but when they dried they got aweful light in color, do y'all think they are too light to hunt? What color grey should I use?

You need brown. Not gray as a solid color.

yes, brown on the backs, tan on the breast and sides, black tail, white under tail and the head...well, thats easy.

I have been reworking my herters for the past week with Bullfrog. We restle coated them and are just about complete. Looking nice after many years of use on the bay. It is so much easier to just buy new ones. What were we thinking!!!
Cheers

Put more white than you'd think under the tail. When they rock and roll in the chop the flashing white seems to get their attention.
