I know its early, but from what everyone saw during the first split and what they e heard what do you guys think the rest of the season will be like? Just wondering if the guys up north had got into any good numbers of ducks, if anyone has heard? I just hope its colder this winter than last year.

I just hope there is enough cold weather to our north to push the birds down on their regular migration.

Since late September I've hunted various systems (river, woods, marsh).
Saw a ton, I mean a huge huge amount of woodies in the woods.
Marsh had more mallards than I would have expected for late september, saw pintails on that outing as well.
I've seen a good number of early migrators (pintail, gaddies, wideon, and a few teal) but very few mallards.
Sadly I think we're going to be in a big lull until late December, if not longer.
Look at the jet stream right now, from Kansas to Michigan it is moving South to North. Not good to push birds down.
