anyone take yet? not the hardest test, but do recommend the online course :biggrin:

The one I took didn't let you fastforward. I may not have listened to or read everything about the international waters and navigation of such. Might have had to retake that section :sad:

Once done, I do recommend sending your certificate and $10 to the DGIF for permanent wallet card. Easy to keep with you that way.

i printed out 3. laminated them and put 1 in wallet, 1 in safe, and 1 to the wife :thumbsup:

I took mine last year, it was actually free when I took it, Allstate flipped the bill, I don' t even have Allstate, I've always been a State Farm guy.

I liked the way you can split it up, I did mine over like 3 or 4 nights.

just finished mine a couple weeks ago. its free through boatus and I did the same thing recoil did. printed out 3 and laminated them myself. hell I spaced mine over weeks. just went thru it when I had time.

I did mine at the fire station last year. Took three nights. Third night was just to take the test. We got a card but the instructor said it would melt if we laminated it.

Has anyone ever been asked by a CPO or Marine Police to produce the card? Do you think they will even enforce it unless it is a young kid on a jet ski?

Yea, took it a while back offered thru DGIF... in the classroom. Good refresher for anyone,even if you have alot of experience on the water!

I took it through a the sailing club (whatever it is called) at SML two years back. Man, I wish I had taken it online. It is pretty basic stuff you ought to know anyway, but I think it was 6 or 8 hours. Way too long, way too dry.
