Just when I thought I saw it all. I found this while reading my monthly cigar magazine sales paper.

the best I have seen was a Peak Antifreeze promo for Duck Dynasty at Advanced Autoparts. Came with a camo hat if you bought like 47 gallons of antifreeze or something ridicules like that. Just had to laugh......

And people wonder why I talk trash about em…

Can you blame them though? I mean, if you told me I could live and breathe duckin for the rest of my life if I just made myself "unique" (let my beard grow out) and talked funny on camera, I might go for it. I can't hate on em too much, but folks that aren't duck hunters just don't understand that I really don't appreciate my passion being commercialized. I understand gear must be bought and sold but the actual hunting isn't something I consider to be a punch line or gimmick.

Guess I'm just a hater. A no duck killin hater without a barrel sticker. Weak.

Give it a few years (or less) and they will be gone. Just a fad. Something new will come out and the younger crowd will not think of them as being "cool" anymore and there will be lots of DC stuff for sale at yard sales or at the dump. Americans are very fickle in this day and age, and nothing lasts for long.

Just saw some Duck Dynasty seat covers for your favorite duck truck in Sportsmans Guide flyer. Also had some auto fragrance hangers so your ride will smell sweet. Think some of you will be getting a REAL surprise for Xmas this year. :lol3:  :sarcmark:

Amen to that. What's going through someone's mind when they're buying a pair of Duck Dynasty sunglasses?!

i have to agree with a lot here. this is getting out of hand! Will the fad last, NO. Having said that, I have a 1972 classic DC call. had to order a new reed (since i gave the call to my 5 year old son 2 years ago and he lost it, but somehow kept the plug). I called them and the reed came about a month later in a hand addressed envelope. I'm no master caller by any means, but its the best/natural sounding call i've heard. It was given to me by a friend 20 years ago after he hunted with them on a video. Thought i was doing "the right thing" and giving it to my son. Bad call. He can have my RNT. much easier to get replacement parts!

I read both willie's and phil's books... both very good and wish they would get back to season 1 antics. Canned now if you ask me. Funny thing, Si wasnt even supposed to be in the show until A&E demanded it! They do drink alcohol, remember they bought a vinyard! No lack of tobacco use though!

My wife called me the other day from Wong Mart and when she stopped laughing she told me that the DC ladies had their own brand of cosmetics! Lipstick and crap. Capitalism at its finest.

She bought a bottle of DC wine for my snobbish uppity brother-in-law who collects "expensive wines". That should be a hoot! :lol3:

Guys, look at the bright side, maybe it'll stop young guys from wearing their pants around their thighs and saying,"You know what I'm sayin?" New role models fellas, and I'm ok with it. Duck hunting takes lots of dedication and commitment. Nobody can change that, even through popularity.
