Only time I like a full moon is when the clouds cover it all night, the tides low all night, and the next morning its windy and incoming. The full moon might make a lot of birds migrate on instinct, which means they also might leave the Chesapeake Bay. It doesn't feel like it's going to be a ducky opener. It will be more of a Wood Duck style hunt targeting big ducks and teal for me. I hope I can overpower the Mill Pond effect with multiple jerk rigs and sitting in the high marsh low tide way out in the open on the edge of the big water, as it switches and heads in. I hate having to go to one of my "if I had to kill 1 duck today" arsenal of spots on the first day already just to shoot a duck or two. I want to sit in the blind and cook breakfast and decoy birds coming into the wind, feather poof some doublage, and turn little black britches bak. This morning would have had some good ripplage goin on.
I might let some of my buddies sit where they want and I'll move down a ways and throw out a 3 Avian X black duck floaters with one on a jerk rig and maybe a couple dibble dabble full bodies. Might as well get super muddy and low profile and target Mr Black Duck, but I will take a mallard, its all going to happen fast and its going to be 80 degrees by 930
for once I agree with Imaduckin
