Trailer Bunks Tip:

Postby Islander Gunner » Sat Dec 14, 2013 3:58 pm

For those that have carpeted bunks on your trailer, I sprayed silicone spray (available at most auto parts stores) on the bunks and you won't believe how the boat will slide off the trailer. A mechanic friend of mine told me about it and it works great. Just be sure to not step on the bunks, or you'll be over board that quick. Just thought I'd pass on the advice.

A redneck once told me to cut PVC pipe lengthwise down the middle and put it over your bunk. I tried it and like it, but I have an aluminum boat with 2x4 bunks. Said redneck once forgot to hook his 21' Carolina Skiff to the with PVC'd bunks dropped the boat on the road when he accelerated.
