speaking with a libertarian today and they thought that we should not have to purchase hunting licenses….. shocking…right?

The idea is nice. but i like the wmas, state forests, and boat ramps the money pays for, And its obvious they are used alot and overcrowded and more needed.

I think a lot of people don't recognize that regulatory powers not granted to federal government are reserved for the state government and they don't seem to make any distinction between the two entities.

Your friend is entitled to his opinion, but don't mistake it for one that is consistent with true libertarian thinking. Libertarians believe in the free market and limited federal government, nothing about paying for a state hunting license goes against that idealology. Especially since you don't have to purchase one if hunting on your own land (that would be the only sticking point).
