Hunter Skills Weekend at Holiday Lake May 3-4, 2014

There's something for everyone! Bring the entire family to this unique program open to ages 11-90+. Three 4-hour sessions provide skills development for new and seasoned hunters alike and include live-fire classes in rifle, shotgun, pistol and muzzleloader shooting. Basic and advanced archery lessons are available as well as an introduction to bow fishing. Upland game, deer, turkey, predator and small game hunting techniques are offered. Survival, game cooking, trail cameras, and game management and food plots classes round out the diverse curriculum. This partnership program is presented by the Virginia Hunter Education Association, the Virginia DGIF and Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center and is held at the 4-H Center near Appomattox, VA.

Registration is open until April 18, 2014 and the cost is $120.00 (meals and lodging included); a discounted fee is available before April 11, 2014. Completion of a Hunter Education course is preferred but not required; children under 18 must attend with a parent. For more information visit http://www.holidaylake4h.com, call Holiday Lake at (434) 248-5444 or email bbranch@vt.edu. Come learn new skills or fine-tune the ones you already have!
