I know of more then a few 11-87 that turned in to a Versa Max during a warranty claim.

Mine is years out of warranty though it would qualify by round count. :fingerhead:

My 11-87 was was 17 years old when the stock bar rusted/broke. Remington replaced it under warranty. They asked me if I wanted a Versa Max but I declined because the 11-87 has sentimental value.

Anyone have any experience with the super x3? I found one for $745 out the door and I might jump on it. Everything I read is good, but I don't know

Just from what I've read and guys I know who have them, they're a really good gun. Only problem I ever heard of was, the gun is really light so you have to get use to the swing because you can over extend.

My buddy that got me into waterfowling shoots one and he swears by it. For me it's going to be between the sx3 or spend the long dollar for the new a400. With a baby due oct 2nd im not sure ill be buying it this year though! My Ithaca skb cycles perfect for the limited use it'll get this year.

Let us know what you think of the SX3. I have one. Not a bad gun. That is the right price for sure.

Congrats on the SX3 ohtajj! But how about a blast from the past?... your gun's granddaddy! As big a Remington fan as I am I love this old Super X Model 1. I'd be wasting my time to try and guess the amount of doves this gun has put on my table.

Finally got to shoot the new sx3 yesterday. Between my dad and I we put about 300 rounds of various loads through it and it functioned flawlessly. An absolute pleasure to shoot. I brought out my old 870 at the end, and what a difference. I never would have known if I would have stuck with the 870, but I'm glad I made the switch!

On a side note for anyone who cares, Kent Fasteel and Federal blue box #2's patterned the best with my patternmaster. Kent was slightly tighter but had a few more small holes(none big enough that I would worry about them.) I was quite disappointed in the pattern I got from hevi-metal- lots of big holes in the patterns.

Bottom line-

Do you want an autoloader? less recoil? Getting older? What can you really afford? consider all this, there are a lot of good deals out there. I might even be able to let loose of a Browning A500 if the money's right. Oh I see I'm too late here. Nothing wrong with SX3- a proven gun for sure. Wanna buy a Browning A500 for a back-up gun?
