 .... Can we PLEASE NOT tell Mama that one!

Contacted J Sterns and they are sending me a color swatch of the raffia grass. Already have about $160 set aside, which should get me in the ballpark for 30lbs.

But SERIOUSLY I need to get the rollers done ... but with the upgrades, and the doubles at work ... NO TIME!

: The job that NEEDED to be done ... and the job I've been DRAGGIN my feet on ... IS DONE!

HAD to get the boat trailer in shape! It was lacking, and needed some TLC and elbow grease ... New padded bunks are done, and work like a charm! Still need to replace 1 roller that is cracked, but the other 4 are greased and oiled, along with re-positioned / raised to cushion the boat and guide.

Last year, there was only 1 roller actually "touching" the keel of the boat, and the so-called bunks were torn carpet, and absolutely useless.

Off loaded the boat today, dropped anchor, and got to work for 2-3hr's ... Have to say, it was cool to have about 4-5 different groups of guys come by and say "Bad Ass Duck Boat!" One of the guys who stopped works at Home Depot and gave me a lead on the netting to secure the 30lbs of raffia grass.

Allllllll - n - Alllllllll not a bad day! Check off another project as "complete" or 85% since I need to replace the ONE lone roller now! Just ordered 6 x 8" cleats (already have 2 x 6" cleats) ... But lesson learned from last year, "You can never have to many tie off points" ... So I'm already gearin up for my next project !!!

: Well, ... Took M.I. out on the Columbia for 2-3hr's today ... She ran GREAT 85% of the time. I called CBL and said "Come out, she's purrrrrrrriiiinnnnggggggg!" This is AFTER I ran her up and down the river ... HARD! Noooooooooo hicccc-ups! NOTHING!

So CBL shows up ... we jump in, ... run her for 15min or so, hard headed DOWN river, make the turn to come back ... STALLS! .... """"" ***?!?!?!?! """"" ... Like I ran outta gas. Power her back up, prime pump, throw a splash of starter in the motor ... Vvvvvvvvvvvvermmmmmmm! Back up and running, ... odd???? Oooooo well, once off, no issue ... ran her UP river for 10 min, no issues! Soooooo I start to figure 8 on way back down to ramp, ... stalls AGAIN ... Now REALLLLLLYYYYYY ***?

So drop CBL and his son off, leave her in the water, ... turned her on and off, started right up ... FFFFFFFFfffffff it, I jump back in, ... run her out 300 yards from shore, run her up, run her down ... start to figure 8 ... STALLLLLSSSSS again!

Think I have a vacumn leak in the fuel line, ... or tank ... or adapters. It's not electical ... Its not fuel (ran tank dry, new gas)
Anyway ... as CBL said, summers the time to fix the kinks! So I'm out fixen!

Is the gas moving away from the intake tube in the tank when you are turning?

I'd be looking hard at the fuel line to see if its getting kinked or stretched when the motor is turned. Could be getting pinched off or could be a small hole that only let's in air while stretched. If its not that, the fuel pickup in the tank could be the culprit.

If you still have a problem, might need to focus on the carb.

: Thanks for the heads up brother ... But I'm pretty sure my problem is the fuel line, ball or tank. Last year she worked/ran like a charm, no issues. The fuel line shows signs of cracking, while small, still there. ... The ball doesn't show cracking, but is soft, maybe problem, maybe not ... The tank was left sun exposed for about 8 hours, with 3/4 tank ... rather than square, it looked like it was a circle at one time. So, thats where the problem solving will start ... and maybe a tune up prior to season starting.

: Sorry for the 6000000 update, but its a project, and when you complete a project, or a part of the overall whole ...

So, as I ran her up and down the river the day before yesterday, I lost an access plate along the way ... Bought another, up and running!

So installed the 8 x 8" cleats along the rails, ... Look GREAT !!! And well, had to throw on a couple fresh coat of paint! Next is the depth finder, and "door"

: Here we go ... UPDATES !!!

3 Weeks ago we had this ...
Image

NOW !!!
Image

Mud Buddy Gun Sleeve / Storage "Bought from WaMuley off the Classifieds!"
Image

Mud Buddy Storage Bag
Image

Also, those are zip-tied to a storage shelf, that also is storage for oars, life vests and such !!!

Think I need another 15lbs of raffia to fill in EVERY gap I have / over-kill ... NEXT ... is the roof cover for one side to sit under. Already have the shelf ... already have the netting ... just have to get it to the right level to sit under comfortable.

It's been a long haul ... about 3yrs in the making ... But as she was on the water today ... I felt I was almost there!

: That moment when your duck boat goes from EPIC to STUPID GROSS !!! Bought 2 boxes of the "Killerweed - All Terrian" to fill in as many gaps as I could on my boat blind. Now, when the first box still has a bundle left, and I've seemed to be runnng outta gaps ... STUPID GROSS! Next is the 8ft "roof" for overhead cover that I'm gonna build/cover with whatever I have left.

So, PHUCCKKKKKIN excited for the season to start, I can't stand it! Bought a Buck Gardner Diver Call today that is awesome! A dzn Teal deek's for early season ...

This is just gonna be RUDE!

I think all you need now is to plumb a cook stove in so you can have hot coffee and breakfast while waiting for the sun to come up.

In for a penny in for a pound... It'd be super easy to plumb a Coleman campstove to a big propane bottle that could also be hooked up to one or two heaters...

Are you familiar with the propane mounted heaters? They make large ones that run off a big bottle, but a couple small ones that are built for the little campstove bottles could be mounted at intervals for even heat distribution.

This is what I run. They make smaller single burner units which would be ideal for a mounted application.
