Well I know it's a few days late, but here's an update on hour our opener went.
Friday at noon: start carrying newly built blind out to island
Friday sunset: finish brushing up blind
Midnight: crew gears up and trecks the mile walk
0400: deeks are thrown out
0650: shootin time, ducks already in the decoys, let 'em rip
By 1100 we had 3 limits and activity stopped. Packed everything up and left at about 1600. All in all, I have to say I'm very excited for this season. If the birds are pushing like this, there should be plenty of jerky for the next week's hunt. A couple green heads, wigeons, shovelers, and teal made up our day. Extremely fun time out with the buddies.
