The rat is in the truck!

Postby brokerbyduck » Thu Nov 21, 2013 7:44 pm

I was out scouting today looking for Cans and Redheads on the river and happened across a large concentration of Mallards and Wigeon on a little backwater. I just threw the rat in the back of the truck for it's first trip this year and am looking forward to a good shoot tomorrow if the whole thing doesn't ice up on me tonight. Supposed to be 11 degrees here.

Anyone else have a trip planned in the next few days? What are you targeting?

I'll know in the morning. I might have a weekend duck pass. Cross your fingers for me.

Very good, I'm hoping for a full report on how those boys do on the big water. Tell them to lead those Old Squaws a bit more than I did my first trip over there.

It's too bad we don't know a guy who sells real layout boats, those would be real handy!

I have to wait till Saturday to hunt and its killing me. Everything froze last night so anywhere with moving water is gna have ducks. Might potentially get my hari this weekend weather permitting. And ill be gunning over my surf scoter repaints as well. We shall see. And Wamuley, take pics of the hunt if possible. I wanna see how you guys hunt rats on the big water lol.

Found a new spot that I'm dying to try on Sat with my dad who will be up from Oregon. Supposed to be 13 tonight so here's hoping it doesn't freeze up. Good luck everybody!
