Any Pasco guys buy the EBADS from Four Rivers?

Postby Jesse Jaymes » Mon Jul 21, 2014 8:48 am

Tom at Four Rivers said he shipped 3 or 4 of his EBADS boats to Pasco last month. Was wondering if anyone here on DHC is one of those guys?

I've been kicking tires, researching everyday, and Googling my nuts off trying to find the perfect boat to order and get here before the season. The EBADS is on my short list of 3. Was hoping to make contact and possibly see one of these boats Hands On.

Shipping on any of my Short List boats is beyond stupid, as they're all Iowa, Missouri, or Mississippi built. I'd like to make the most informed choice possible before pulling the trigger. Not like I can return any of them is there is a flaw or defect.

There was suppose to be one of the SOBADS on the truck for me, but they never got back to me on when that trip to Pasco was going to happen.

It can be difficult to versatile with one boat. If you want to be where the ducks are or in their flight path you have to have options. I have 5 different types of duck boats and they all serve a purpose.

I've never really looked at their boats before, that ebads looks like a lot of fun with a surface drive on it. I can think of some places that would be a useful boat.

Unfortunately; the wife may kill me if I brought home another duck boat.

If you pick one up, post up some video so we can see how it performs for you.

Sure will. I am torn between 3 boats. Having a hard time getting useful responses or help in selection. Just not that many of the other two boats out there.

I already have a 1648 Lowe that I use to transport or Barge. I am somewhat novice and the upper reaches of the Columbia where I am located are not nearly as good as the middle stretches. Hate having to drive 2 hours to shoot ducks. Just trying to gain an edge over the Weekend guys or limited guys. Guess that's the whole mantra with most

Post this question on the Iowa, Missouri and Misissipi forums and you may get more responses. Probably a lot more of them in that neck of the woods. Or google the name as other forums may have followings on them. You have to go to the source to find the info or close to it.

Googled for days on Pintail Boats and County Line Boats. Not much if anything out there. The EBADS is easy to find info/posts on.

But I may try the state forum suggestion.

I'm standing in an Ebads right now. Interesting little boats.

Well....what do you think? What was it powered by? What are your thoughts on interior size/capacity?

It's a decent sized boat, I never saw it in the water. They had a booth at Bootcamp this weekend. It's heavy, and not as sturdy as I would have thought. I chatted about boats with the owner a bit, he is very knowledgeable.

Like the Ohio Bootcamp?

A bit disappointing. It's the widest boat out of the 3 I am looking at. And by a good margin.

Yes the Ohio Bootcamp.

I'm sure it would work great. I just didn't like the flex in the floor.

Jesse, if you're serious about the three finalists in your wish list, why don't you list all three here? Seems like you'll get a better comparison.
I don't know what your other options are but, if there's an aluminum option, I would take it over the glass and roto mold type boats. Aluminum lasts a lifetime, literally.
Good luck with your research. I think any info you get on the EBAD is somewhat speculation, due to it just coming out recently. It is most likely that no one in the general public has hunted it for even part of a season yet. Not a dig on the boat, just a fact. It does look like it will be stable in the pictures.

I thought I had posted a list here and didn't want to be redundant.... looks like it was over on the Refuge instead.

County Line Boats is the one most towards what I was wanting. I've spoken and text Andy the owner/builder. Professional and a quick response. Just 0 feedback on any of his boats. Pretty sure he is a 1 man operation out of his home. Said he would make me one with .100" aluminum for a few bucks more if that's what I had to have.

Spoken also to Chris from Pintail boats. A good bit more money and almost pushing me up into the Phowler Prowler boat realm. But the boats look so nice, although it's a good departure from what I am really wanting as far as use....which is lay down and gun with the dog behind my head.

Edges of LR. Dam fluctuates backwater levels quite a bit throughout the long season. Pulling in along the edges and coves. Lots of backwater flats here and N.ID.

Layout/Down. Just like EBADS. Dog behind my head. 100% solo. Have to cross open waters tho. I wouldn't go without an exit plan, but water could easily be too deep to stand in
