I had my fingers crossed for an increased scoter or goldeneye limit. But thats not gna happen.

It's unlikely we will ever see a higher goldeneye, scoter, or can limit.

Won't see an increased goldeneye limit on the west side where they are a sea duck. Go east if you want a full limit of goldies Mitch.

The hope was to see the Common GE limit increase. There is simply no reason not to do that. Just make it a rule you stop shooting GE when you have your two Barrows limit in hand. Scoters are a restricted species of bird in Washington. We have limited opportunity for good reason. I haven't checked yet on the Blue Bill limit. It was supposed to be a great hatch this year. I will have to see if they increased that limit for this year.

The Pacific flyway gets the least pressure and has lots of birds. Frankly the 2 pintail limit annoys me more than the blue bill limits.

WDFW thinks guys can't tell the difference in GE.

They might be right. Lots of new to the sea duck hunting in the area and they have no idea what they are shooting until they ask or google it. Saw a guy off of Camano Is. a few years back with 4 Brant in December. He thought he had shot cacklers. :huh:
