Fox river/Vernon Wildlife Area

I have an 8’ jon boat with a couple of oars. I don’t know the area and I’m wondering if I’d need a bigger boat. I think I’d be ok in the marsh up Frog Alley but I’m not sure about the river. I’ve seen canoes, so it can’t be too bad. The current appears stronger then what a 2 HP could handle. Can we use a gaz motor in the marsh? A trolling motor? What do I need for the river? Are the ducks on the river worth it?

Thanks guys!
