Old Man, New to Forum...

This Midwestern state holds many waterfowl species. Post here and read others views on Wisconsin duck hunting. From the mighty Mississippi river to the west to the great lake of Michigan on the east, WI has many different types of hunting available to hunters.

Old Man, New to Forum...

Postby Kismet » Sat Aug 04, 2012 7:25 pm

Hey Folks,

Just sayin' hello.

I've been an opportunistic duck hunter, jump-shooting from the crik, and only occasionally floating the near-by river over the years.

Mostly hunted pheasants as an interest, deer as a form of filling the freezer, and turkeys--just to see if I could.

I've had two GWPs over the years, and now have a Field Springer (from a rescue org) who is learning what he was
bred for. Nothing like the GWPs, but he's loving life these days. He's about 5. Congenial critter, Mick is.

Legs are going, but I can still manage.

I mostly tell stories, rather than report, but they're TRUE stories (with slight color added for flavor.:) )

Been messing around fixing up derelict boats this summer. Got a tired old canoe, fixed it up, found it to be a barge, sold it,
and...came across the most-tired Cranberry Creek 12.9 Y-stern the world has ever seen. The fiberglass work is mostly done, the keel reattached (where it could be) or repaired by a non-handyman. Some liner inside and rattle can repair outside and who knows? I may be floating rivers again this Fall.

Nice to be here.

Nope but was some really good reading before the mods stepped in and tamed the debates down. Could really get heated and comical at times.

Welcome. There was always a guy on the Ky site that would tell his daily story about float hunting the river and they were always a very good read.
