Far from it, that was just the first push of birds that have gone through. Theres plenty more to come just need some cold weather or a storm front to push them down to us. The peak of the migration is not even close to here yet.

Went out in SE WI on Sunday. Threw out as many decoys as I could muster up and seemed like the ducks were fans. Unfortunately a guy about 100 yards away decided it was a good idea to shoot at ducks working towards my decoys at 100+ yards from him. Ended up with one mallard that snuck past him but can't stop thinking about what could have been.

Doesn't that just get you po'ed.You work the birds to get them to decoy and then someone else will have no respect for you that the birds are working your deke's and not his and then screws it up for all by blasting away at them.I know every one wants to get a duck, but come on,give some respect .
I feel that everyone that's out there duck hunting should hold off on shooting duck that are working someone else's dekes unless they change their minds and start working yours. No one likes it when it happen to you,so don't do it to some else.My son and I won't shoot at birds working others decoys

Yeah, had me incredibly pissed. I really enjoy having birds work the spread and commit and he completely ruined it. That was my first experience with a guy really skybusting, I have seen people taking shots that I normally wouldn't but have never seen anything like this guy. It pissed me off even more since I took my cousin out on his first duck hunt and that was what he got to experience. At least my cousin got to see one pair of ducks really work the decoys and at the end of the day he was asking me when I could take him back out on a weekday.

I could not agree more. I hunt a heavily hunted public marsh and NEVER take ducks working another guys dekes.

Driving through the Delavan area after work today and saw more ducks than I think I have in the last two weeks... unfortunately all in town. Maybe we're seeing a little bit of a push from up north.

I doubt that many new birds moved down from up north. There really is not any weather up in canada to move the birds, the temps up there aren't locking to many of the waters up. Its not about the weather we have down here we need to look at the weather up north of us that will push the birds down to us.

Shot 8 Geese over the weekend up by Waupun. Great cool mornings only to be followed by sunny days. Made it tough.
Could of used some cloudy mornings and/or days. Saw 1 Duck! Marsh appears to still be low on water. Feed looks good though.
Seen a few Nice Bucks in back of pick-ups!
We need an Alberta Cliper to roll threw! That'll bring some birds!!!!

Horribly slow. Been out everyday for a week now and its been nothing but local stale birds and empty skys. Same for the guys and areas around me. Haven't gottin chit for good reports. Have tryed everything to fool em and after todays watching of empty skys I am scrabbleing for options.

That weather brought no new birds down just did a semi stir of some local birds but even that shut off by about ten. Scouting to find empty waters and mojos.

Need some real weather not these south rain storms.

Lots oh birds in central WI, but we gotta get some ice man! Fresh birds wouldn't be bad either. North wind with this warm front should push a slow migration. That is perfect.
Did awesome on Monday and Tuesday morn by myself. Saw a lot and got my limits of mallards each day due to the pot holes and marshes freezing. Wednesday there was nothing with the warm up. That cold front was perfect too. A cold south wind. If it had been a north wind those those days, I think the birds woulda just left.

Did get a first time hunter on a field with about 750 geese using it. He had a blast!
Should be a couple good weeks yet.

Had a great day on Sunday with some buddies! Really got the Greenheads to work the dekes well which was suprising since all season they have been wary birds
