Wood Ducks are one of the first back to Wisconsin, I have seen them back by April 15th.

Just as soon as they can get their way out of those pesky shells ! Seriously though I have had several Woodduck boxes and in keeping pretty close tabs on them I believe in my area I have seen them around Memorial Day weekend plus or minus a week. I haven't been lucky enough to see them parachuting out of the box but right around that time is when I see them for the first time on the water.
