went out saturday. its low but not as bad as last year i think

It depends on where you go and who you ask...

If you ask someone who spent 3-4K on a mud motor last year, they will say something like, "Super low, it's all mud". (don't get me wrong, I want a mud motor super bad)

Truth is, there is good water in spots - better than last year (tough to get worse than last year). Most of the spots that I hunt are up from last year.

Just get out there before the season starts and scope it out. You should be alright with an outboard right now... but that could change.

you will be fine with a mud motor. there was two people out there with outboards who didnt seem to have much trouble.
