Went out to do a little scouting this weekend in Burnett and Washburn counties. I checked out roughly 20 lakes in my area. Canoed a few rice patches. The ducks and geese were just gone. All the wood ducks and teal split, the mallards haven't got here and I think the divers arced around us. It was probably the least amount of ducks I have ever seen at this time of the year in my area. Even the woodcock are not down yet and they are generally pretty reliable.

I did notice a lot of cutting and plowing going on in the local corn fields. Do you think all the ducks got sucked into the corn stubble?
