Somebody Tell Me Why I Live In Wisconsin?

Postby War Wagon » Sun Jan 26, 2014 5:50 am

Anybody got a idea why we live in this "Great State of Wisconsin". :help: .
I got cabin fever bad, and next week looks like it's going to get even worse....
This has to be one of the coldest winters what I can remember, so many days of temps in the single digits or below zero temps. Then the next day it snows..
I think for the first time if someone would ask me "When did your winter begin in Wisconsin ?" I could say
opening day of Deer Hunting and it just has not let up... :crying:

I like living in WI:
Jan- hunt crows and rabits
Feb-hunt coyotes
March-cut wood
April-bowfish
May-bass and northern fishing
June-muskie fishing
July-bluegills
Aug- catfishing
Sept-goose hunting
Oct-duck hunting
Nov-deer hunting
Dec- grouse and pheasant hunting
and there is always plenty of cold beer, brandy manhattans, and corn-fed women

At least you don't live in IL. If it wasn't for the lady, I would gladly move to the Northwoods and wave goodbye. Our statutes are enough to make heads spin.

it is God's country that is why. I was born (Sturgeon Bay) and raised (La Crosse)in WI currently serving in the military for 20 years and yet I find myself returning every year to hunt weather it be deer or ducks. It is one of the best places in the nation and i have been around this great nation many times, be glad you are where you are. Go PACK GO, Go Brewers maybe sometime soon

I moved back from Louisiana last year and this has been a test the last year. It was pissing freezing rain on me until June 15. Got our first snow October 14th. So there are roughly 4 months that aren't winter.
Of those 4; 1 is wintery mixture of spring, 1 is almost summer and 2 are fall.

Hey War Wagon, you could always take a vacation down to sunny Virginia where we hunt honkers into February. We had snow, cold, and ice but keep on hunting. Had great success the last 2 days hunting in the snow. Geese saw the dekes and piled right in. No circling forever. Better yet rent an RV and come on down, do some hunting and fishing, and see what VA has to offer. Ask me real nice like and I might take off a day or 2 and get you out of that cabin fever.  :welcome:
