Hi everyone, my girlfriend and i are looking at moving to Wisconsin. We live in western washington right now.
Her brother lives in ashland so she want to be close to there. We are both more into small towns over big cities.
I was wondering what the hunting is like aroumd that part of the state? The amount of public lamd or any accessible lamd to hunt on, how packed it gets, and even what the season is like? You folks habe a totally different seasonal set up than we do it seems like.
Also interested to know what the job market is like around there? I have some managment and agricultural experiemce and a lot of mechanic experience, but i want to get out of turning wrenches if possible.
We have heard and are seeing that the cost of living is pretty cheap which is awesome. Saw some places online in the Lac Du Flambeau area that were appealing and it looks like there's lots of water out there (google maps) but i don't know what's huntable and what isn't.
Any info at all, even if it's not related to what i posted, is greatly appreciated. We are excited at the possibility of moving out there, and I'm excited to kill ducks in a totally new flyway. Thank you in advance!
