Personal Observations Open Water Hunting: Bay of Green Bay WI

The season started off hot on Sept 27. As of Oct 19th, no northern ducks are migrating down the Bay of Green Bay. Conditions in WI are very dry w/ hardly any water in marsh puddles.

Megansers were showing up in daily bags around Oct 4th. Large amounts of Blue Bills were taken from the 4th to the 14th of October.

Ducks on the Bay have become very decoy field shy partially due to the current sunny weather conditions along w/ the hunting pressure.

Geese have become scarce. Large numbers of geese migrated through the Bay area in early October. Last geese taken on Oct 18th were very receptive to calling and came right into the decoy field.
