Deer hunter shot in Alberta

With deer hunting upon us, please remember one of the golden rules of hunting: be 100% certian of what your shooting at. i.e. a real deer and not a hunter carrying a decoy/carcas or a movement in the bush. This "accident could have become a tradgey very quickly.

We were less then 5kms away when this happened. We didn't even know about it until we got home Sunday night. Heard the chopper but thought nothing of it.

That is a heavily hunted area. He should have WORN ORANGE and NOT BEEN CARRYING A DECOY IN RIFLE SEASON. Not in that area! (he was bow hunting) The shooter should have been sure what he was shooting at. Open sights, .303, he couldn't have been that far.

We had already filled our tags the day before so we were just wheeling. But we still wore orange.
Be carefull out there!
