Loads, for ducks I choose 2 3/4 or 3" number 2,3 or 4 when shooting steel.
For geese I Choose 3" 2's, 1's and BB and I will occasionally run 3.5" loads.
Unfortunately I can't really help you much further since I'm not familiar with Ontario. I will recomend if you're interested in hunting farmers properties contacting them around now and if possible arranging to assist them over the course of the spring and summer. I know that has given me an edge when it comes to access properties around here.

I switch my gun up and choke depending on how far we are set up on oct 1st my family has hunted the same marsh for 60 years and were set up at 10 15 yards so somtimes I take the 20 gage with #4 or #3 so I don't blow em up to bad

By Alliston, if you can get permission for fields around the holland marsh, that would be your closest "best bet". There is also the Wye marsh closest to you. If you have a boat, Matchadesh bay is good too. but a lot of "sky busters" there.

I shoot kent silversteel 3" #2 all year for ducks and goose.

It is getting that bad in the States in places and even here in Georgia, one lake in particular in SWGA I used to hunt there quite a bit but like them, I don't go down there much anymore due to the skybusters and yahoos!!
