Nice 5 man limit!

Postby MerkEm » Sat Dec 26, 2009 11:36 pm

The birds flew a little late with the snow but they did show.. Going out tomorrow with 7 guys expecting the same results.. Tons of geese still in the area.. Time to make up for a sub par year on ducks.. :hammer:

The first picture is "around here" Dave .
My biggest problem right now is that they are flying in big groups . Prefer groups of 2 , 3, or 4 . No surviors to tell the tale that way.

Hunted today with 7 of us and killed 9, Not as many birds flying as yesterday.. They are still around but i think they went the opposite way to feed.. Didnt fire our guns until about noon when a long goose came down cupped up from the heavens and right into the spread.. Had 2-3 more smaller flocks come in and that was the day.. Oh yeah One band too... Will have pics up as soon as i can.. Man i love hunting "Around Here"

We had about 100 fly past us on Saturday and we couldn't brake them up so we let them go by.

Nice job "around there". Over here it's not been bad either except I could've used some more guns. Only been 2 of us and today finally got someone else that could go and he got cold  about 11:00 so we packed up and the geese flew at noon. Oh well, monday and Tuesday were good.

We didn't get any snow Sunday until later in the day. I hunt St. Joe and Elkhart mostly. I think Tuesday was the day I had to keep dusting the dekes. Thinkin' about riggin' a cordless blower for that. I'll post it if I ever figure it out.

Still a good hunt. What's with the matching sweatshirts? Are you a wrestling team? What do they have on the chest? I zoomed in and saw what the sleeves say. Are they like a Foiles or Zinc or something, or are they just a generic hunting hoodie. "Team Hoodie"

A buddy of ours guides in michigan, dokotas, and texas, He came up with the idea and kinda just put it all together.. I thought they came out pretty damn good.. Im itching for thursday to get here, went by the field we hunt around 1 oclock today and it was just loaded up with birds..

I figured they'd fly late today with the weather. I scouted till 11:30 and couldn't find a bird anywhere. I think they were in rabbit holes, couldn't find 'em on the water or in the fields.
